5 Things on my Bucket List

Moments that Define Life blog is on week #3 of her Listable Life series. Of course I am participating again...I love lists. If you would like to share your bucket list or choose from one of the other great list topics. link up now.

1. Visit the Homeland- I grew up in a rural area heavily populated with Icelanders me being one of them. My grandparents, aunts and uncles all spoke icelandic (more than English). We went to an Icelandic church that had one service in both Icelandic and English. During Christmas time we would endulge in Vinertarta. This was such a huge part of my upbringing so It's long been my dream to actually visit this beautiful country to see where my relatives came from. The beautiful landscape would be a huge bonus on the journey.  Geysers, glaciers, volcanos and waterfalls. Sounds absolutely amazing.

Fail is right!  That was just sheer nonsense.

2.  Climb the Stairway to Heaven- or what I also like to refer to as The Ladder of Death. I've actually attempted this once already but because of my acrophobia  (fear of heights) I was unable to complete.  However, I did make it through the first hump...baby steps...baby steps. One day I will get to the top.

View from the top....breathtaking. Photo taken by my husband

3. See that Cherished Events becomes a successful company- Realistically I know that this will have to wait until my kids are a little bit older since their schedules tend to consume my weeks at this time but I'm hoping that one day I'll be able to grow a thriving business.  Keeping it small right now and that's okay.  It's all about timing.

4. Buy a Home in my Hometown- to visit in the summer and occasional winter.
I've spent years away from family but it wasn't until I had my own children that I realized these attachments are real.  My kids LOVE going back to my home state and spending time with their family.  Their grandparents and great aunts spoil them to pieces.  My SIL and brother are like an extra set of parents and their cousins are like siblings. Which is exactly the way I grew up. When we leave they talk about it for months. It would be nice to have just a place that we can keep in the family for generations to come.

Can you guess which are mine?

5. I live in Hawaii so if there is anywhere to achieve a bucket list it's here.  So my #5 is a combination of water sports I must at least try.  Learn how to surf, sail, and paddle board.

Again, link up at Moments that Define Life' s Listable Life.  It's a blast and a great way to get to know your blog friends.

  2. Love your list! I didn't realize you had such a fear of heights! Honestly, I couldn't go up the stairway to heaven. I would probably hyperventilate. LOL. I can't wait to see Cherished Events grow, it will be fabulous! I have no doubt. xo

  3. We lived in Hawaii for 18 months and I never tried surfing because I was so scared of sharks. Now I'm kicking myself.
