Instead of battling our way through the TSA, all to get on that 6 hour flight back to the mainland with the additional 4 hours to reach our final destination with two kids under six (sounds super fun, doesn't it?), we decided to avoid the misery of air travel and enjoy the island we live on for a change. I’m so glad we did. Daily life in Hawaii is very much like living anywhere else, we just have gorgeous weather all the time and a great view. Ok, so maybe not like everywhere else. Our hectic schedules usually prevent us from fully taking advantage of what is really, right in our backyard. This week has been an absolute blast discovering and rediscovering the beauty and sheer wonder of this place. Why I never rented a Kayak out to the Mokulua’s in the five years total I’ve lived here, I’ll never know. I had no idea what I was missing out on. It was a little tough for these arms that rarely get a workout but after slathering myself with Icy Hot and Banana Boat Aloe, I was good to go. Here are a few pictures of our expedition.
