5 all time favorite TV Shows or Movies

This week I'm participating in week two of Moments that Define Life blogs Listable Life.  She had such a great list to choose from this week, I had a really hard time deciding.  I thought I'd go for  5 things you would tell your younger self or 5 fashion trends you wish you had not taken part of . Especially since that is mostly what my blog has been about in recent months.  But as I started writing about fashion trends better left unsaid I realized...I'm okay with the fashions that I've chosen throughout the years (no matter how bad they were) and I realized I don't actually regret any of them....but I should.  Then I thought, surely I would have many smart things to tell my younger self..but again...blank...I made a lot of mistakes but I also did a few things right which led me to where I am today.  Although, I'm sure I would have said be more confident in yourself because that lack of confidence will set up many road blocks for you ahead.  Which I think is something every young girl needs to hear. Actually I can think of many things I'd tell my younger self but I decided to go with movies because there are just too many good ones I need to throw out there.

So here it goes...my top five favs + one more.

1. Walk the Line- There has never been a movie that has moved me more. The acting was phenomenal. Joaquin Phoenix nailed it and made me a lifetime fan. Even after his year of Joaquin crazy man. The depth that he put into this character was absolutely amazing.  I'm not a fan of country music but there are a few artists that I'll listen to. Johnny Cash was always one of them.  This movie captivated so much about Johnny Cash's life that we already knew but through Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon we actually felt it.

Love them..they should be married.
Favorite Movie Quotes:
"Y'all can't walk no line!"
"You're my best friend. Marry me."

2.  Dirty Dancing- Yet another great movie filled with GREAT songs, great acting and fantabulous dancing.  Patrick Swayze...OMG.  Dream boat for girls everywhere.  We had an over night movie night at our high school.  They played this movie...not really sure what the staff was thinking but never the less...we all had the time of our life....ok not really but I had to say it.

Favorite Movie Quote
"Nobody puts baby in the corner"

3. About Last Night- I was in love with Rob Lowe as a teen and I wanted to be just like Demi Moore.  Need I say more?  Ok, I'll say more. I love you, love you not, love you again.  Same story for so many.  It actually seemed like a real relationship. They were brilliant together with such a strong chemistry.  That is what you want to feel when watching a movie and they brought it home folks.

Favorite Movie Quotes:
"Her big move should be coming up any moment, the combination hair flip with a giggle"
"I know why I'm leaving, what's your story, what killed it for you"

4. St. Elmos Fire- My first thought was to belt out the song....by typing it...but that's not cool.  So what I will say is that this is a movie about growing up and finding yourself after college with responsibilities and sometimes people are just not ready to make that leap. It's all about the trials and tribulations of becoming an adult.

Favorite Movie Quote:
"You break my heart, Then again, you break everyone's heart"

5. Fatal Attraction- What can I say...I like the classics.  Fatal Attraction scared every man across America and I have yet to find one that actually likes the movie.  It terrifies them that much.

Because an innocent night that starts out like this.........

Could end up like this.............
Favorite Movie Quote:
"You didn't think you could just IGNORE me Dan"

I know...list of five but I had to add a sixth.

6. Marley and Me- I think so many dog owners could relate to this movie, myself included.   I made the mistake of reading the book Marley and Me the week after our beloved Golden Retriever passed away.  I knew it was a horrible idea but once I started reading I couldn't stop.  When they announced it would become a movie, I thought...pfftt..whatever there is no way it will be better than the book because lets be honest most times it's not.  Right?  Was I ever wrong.  I loved this movie. I actually believed Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson were a married family with three kids and one bad dog.  The end left me sobbing......actual uncontrollable sobs.  Typically I'm not into sad movies but this was such a beautiful story of just a normal family.

They start off so darn cute but they really are a lot of work.

So sweet...how can people not think pets are part of the family?

Favorite Movie Quote:
"A dog doesn't care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull.  Give him your heart and he will give you his."
