Kualoa Ranch

In addition to Kualoa Ranch's royal roots it has also been the location of many movies and television series. It's obvious why so many Film and TV Productions have used Kualoa Ranch for their breathtaking backdrops.  Jurassic Park, Karate Kid (1984), Pearl Harbor, Windtalkers, Tears of the Sun, Along Came Polly, Fifty First Dates, Godzilla, Magnum PI not to mention my favorite LOST! To name a few.

This weeks adventure was a day of sightseeing at the Kualoa Ranch by ATV.  My husband and I religiously make an effort to have one full day together while the kids are in school.  We usually don't plan that far ahead because with a busy family life things change at a moments notice.  So that is exactly the way we plan our outings every week.  On a whim. I'm a compulsive planner by nature so this has been good for me. I've learned it's okay to be spontaneous once in awhile.

The following are pictures of a set design for a movie called Journey 2: The Mysterious Island which is set to release in 2012.  It's the sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Seriously wanted to take this guy home with me, although it might have very well been a girl.  Either way.

Does it get any dorkier than this?
Why yes, those are Doc Martens Circa 1997.

Kualoa Ranch was well worth the visit.  The ATV truly made me get back to my country girl roots.  As soon as I smelled that two-stroke oil  it made me miss the farm life I once worked so hard to get away from.
