I didn't have high expectations for Rob Lowe's Memoir but since he was my biggest Brat Pack crush from the 80's I thought, what the heck and read it. Not to mention the fact that he was in my two favorite movies of all time: St. Elmos Fire and About Last Night. The book was entertaining but I think the best part was probably the picture...seriously he will always be a cutie in my book! Maybe it's just my 80's crush talking here.
The media frenzy of the 80's wasn't quite what it is today so truth be told there are a lot of things we don't know about our favorites from that era. He did manage to share a few secrets I was unaware of. You would think a guy like Rob Lowe would be the most popular guy in school...not the case...quite the opposite...totally surprising. He worked very hard to get to where he is from a very young age, also, news to me. I thought some talent head hunter just plucked him out of a mall in Ohio and moved him to Hollywood. I was completely unaware that he actually had a strong passion for acting. He speaks very candidly about his journey through stardom in an interesting, smart, witty and humorous way. It seems Mr. Lowe has grown into a fine man.

ReplyDeleteI usually shy away from stars who write books. I think I will check this out though. I loved the Brat Pack. :) New follower from Thursday Friend Cafe
