Room Makeover

My sons room has been long overdue for decorating. I mean he is a boy and doesn't really care what his room looks like as long as he has his toys.  However, his mom believes it is in need of a little more personality.

We purchased the quilt shown above from Pottery Barn Kids last year, mostly because we live near the beach and I've always believed your house's style should fit the location you live. Whether it be beach, rustic or metro.    I chose this chevron rug found at West Elm.  He's a boy....which means he is messy....messy as in drags in dirt.  Also, this rug will transition well to his teen years.  A rug is an investment you don't want to change often since they tend to be a little pricey. The art work is from Made By Girl.  I love all of her prints.  They are so simplistic but make such a statement.  I just liked how the black ties in with the rug and the colored name pulls the colors from the quilt.  The white shelves are available in several stores and what I like about them is you can just put a basket in them and they can house pretty much anything unsightly and it will still look nice.
