For years I've wanted to add Le Creuset to my kitchen collection. I just couldn't get past the price, so I decided to start small. I recently purchased (actually it was a Williams-Sonoma's gift card...thank-you MIL) a cast iron skillet in ocean (as seen in both the oval and rectangle baker above). Love, love, love!! I was a little apprehensive to purchase it but I'm so glad I did. I've been pleasantly surprised by it's performance. The cast iron skillet is fantastic for making frittata's and quiche, they come out perfect! Once I muster up the courage, I'll be adding the dutch oven in dune to the collection. Le Creuset is a timeless masterpiece and I've come to the conclusion, well worth the money.
I've lived without a cookbook stand for my entire adult life up until now and decided it's time to throw in the towel, partially because of my failing eyesite...damn you, age! Who would have thought it would be so hard to find one that I like. I mean it will be on my kitchen counter so it must look good, right? I found one at Williams-Sonoma that I liked just for the mere functionality of it. Though I haven't seen it up close, it looks pretty good. The cookbook actually goes behind the tempered glass, therefore protecting the pages while holding them in place...genius (now, now, give me a break it's my first time shopping for a cookbook stand)! Plus the metric chart on the side is pretty darn handy. How many times have you had to stop everything you are doing in the kitchen and take a trip to the computer for some crazy conversion? A few times for me.
Isn't this cappuccino maker dreamy. She's so pretty.
