I took the kiddos to see Hop over the weekend. I thought it was a great movie despite the bad reviews but then again I'm pretty easy to please. My son was tired and cranky and at some point he said it was scary...TRUST it wasn't scary. Well, that is unless you have a problem with a chick turning into a bunny...that may be scary for some.
I'll admit, while they were in their little factory, it did seem more like a commercial for Hershey's Kisses and Little Peeps than a movie. I usually dislike having to "pay" to watch advertising. However, I let it go because it was very pretty and colorful for the kids...ok, for me too...you know how I love a good color palette. Anyway, E.B. is the teenage rabbit who is set to become the new Easter Bunny but he has no interest in taking on that role so he sets off to Hollywood to follow his dream of becoming a drummer. Fred O'Hare (James Marsden's character) is an unemployed man in his 30's unable to find that perfect job. His family has grown tired of his excuses for not working. The two cross paths (I won't say how) and so the story goes.
Overall the movie theater had a few good belly laughs among the children and adults so it couldn't have been that bad. My son hated it and my daughter and I loved it. Two outta three aint bad! Besides we needed another Easter movie.
