Peter Rabbit Baby Shower

I recently co-hosted a surprise Peter Rabbit themed baby shower for a friend.  She had the plan in motion when I came on board and was thrilled she asked for some assistance. We had the best time planning. It's always smart to have an extra pair of eyes and hands when planning any event. It will keep your sanity intact.

This adorable banner was made by my friend and co-host, master behind the plan at Moments that Define Life.  She did and excellent job using all of the colors perfectly.  Peter Rabbit was a very hard theme to find decorations for so essentially everything you see was either handmade by one of us or just something that her and I had received for gifts for our children or ourselves for that matter. We were able to incorporate these items into the tablescapes and decorations.

I loved this idea.  My co-host cut out several Peter Rabbit pictures and we either attached them to toy blocks or clay pots. Overall, it was a very inexpensive way to make a nice statement which really brought the theme to life.

We found that a carrot cake was the best choice for the dessert.

Here is a prime example of digging through what you already have to use for party themes.  The little Peter Rabbit board books were a gift from I believe my friend and co-hosts aunt.  They were a little worn which made them look vintage.  It worked wonderfully.  The fabric book against the wall was a gift to my kids from their aunt.  It's such a great feeling being able to use things you already have.   So that is my tip for the day.....start digging through your closets and drawers, you never know what you'll find.

We purchased carrots and cabbage at a local organic grocery store. Where else would you find carrots with the stalks, right? Simple, yet effective.

It's hard to see in this picture but my friend painted some blocks with baby's name on them. The plan was to have Welcome in front of it but somewhere along the way "Welcome" disappeared....lol...all of you moms out there can understand how that could happen.  It actually worked out better just to have the baby's name on the cake...the Welcome would have been too much. It's like it was meant to be.

You can't see it very well but the little bowl of salsa was actually my husbands Peter Rabbit bowl when he was a baby. I had horrible visions of breaking it in route to the party.

Lastly, the party favors. It was a combination of organic bath scrub and tea bags. I'll try to get a better close up of the bags. My friend found these cute polka dot bags at the Target but we didn't have quite enough so we mixed up with brown bags and it worked fine.  The tea bags were just various paper used throughout the party cut to fit a tea bag and a Peter Rabbit sticker found on Etsy.
